Pursuant to T.C.A. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law(s) applicable to your profession. The Tennessee Board for Licensing Contractors (“Board”) is holding a rulemaking hearing (“hearing”) in Conference Room 1A in the Davy Crockett Tower, located at 500 James Robertson Parkway, Nashville, TN 37243, at 1:00 P.M. CST on July 30, 2013. A copy of the proposed rule changes may be viewed on the Board’s website (http://tn.gov/regboards/contractors/law.shtml ) or on the website of the Tennessee Secretary of State (http://state.tn.us/sos/rules_filings/05-16-13.pdf ). The proposed rule changes to be considered at the hearing are relative to what type of work a limited residential contractor is permitted to perform, changes the total project amount for which the limited residential contractor may act as the general contractor by increasing that amount, and lists other details about the license requirements. Some of the proposed changes relate to amendments to clarify grounds for possible disciplinary action by the Board related to a licensed contractor either pulling a permit for an unlicensed contractor or consenting to a license number being utilized by an unlicensed contractor in the furtherance of unlicensed contracting.
