Notice of Effective Date for New Rules of the
Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance, Division of Regulatory Boards

Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession.

The Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance, Division of Regulatory Boards approved these rules at a rulemaking hearing meeting conducted on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. CT.

These rules were filed with the Secretary of State on October 16, 2025, and will become effective on January 13, 2026. These rules have been filed as Rulemaking Hearing Rules and will be promulgated (90) days from the filing date.

The proposed rules create the procedures and process for individuals affected by any matter or any individual who holds a license, certification, registration or like recognized designation issued by the Department of Commerce and Insurance (“Department”), Division of Regulatory Boards, that requests an advisory private letter rulings on a subject or matter under the program’s primary jurisdiction. The amendments detail how impacted individuals may request an advisory private letter ruling, as well as the process for how the programs are to review and issue the advisory private letter rulings.
