Notice of Rulemaking Hearing for New Rules of the
Tennessee Auctioneer Commission
Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession.
The Tennessee Auctioneer Commission (“Commission”) approved the proposed rules at the rulemaking hearing conducted on May 19, 2025. The rules were filed with the Secretary of State on August 11, 2025, and will become effective November 9, 2025. The rules have been filed as rulemaking hearing rules and will be promulgated ninety (90) days from the filing date.
The proposed rules amend certain general licensing and continuing education requirements resulting from the Department’s review as required by the General Assembly’s enactment of Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-5-213. Most of the rule amendments are clerical and do not impose any additional licensure standards. Specifically, the rule amendments simplify the examination provision and civil penalty schedule and clarify a portion of the continuing education withdrawal of program approval and reporting system requirements.
