Tennessee Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners 

 

Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession. The following rules were filed as Emergency Rules and became effective immediately upon filing on July 24, 2017. These rules may impact you as a holder of a license with the Tennessee State Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners.


These rules detail the mobile shop requirements for barbers and cosmetologists including, but not limited to, specification of the application process, fee requirements, sanitation requirements, and equipment requirements. As these are emergency rules, they are effective for a period of up to 180 days, ending January 20, 2018. Following the filing of these emergency rules, the Board will also be filing a notice regarding the promulgation of permanent rules regarding mobile shops.
