Notice of Effective Date for New Rules of the
Tennessee Collection Service Board
Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession.
The Tennessee Collection Service Board approved the proposed rules at the rulemaking hearing conducted on January 9, 2025. The rules were filed with the Secretary of State on June 26, 2025, and will become effective September 24, 2025. The rules have been filed as Rulemaking Hearing Rules and will be promulgated ninety (90) days from the filing date.
The rules are in response to the Department of Commerce and Insurance’s retrospective review conducted in 2023. The proposed rules reorganize the placement of prohibited practices and redefine “change of ownership” as it applies to limited liability companies and corporations.
