Notice of Pending Rules for the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance
Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession regulated by the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance (“Department”). Rules must be on file with the Secretary of State’s office for ninety (90) days before they become effective. These rules were approved following a rulemaking hearing conducted on August 25, 2020 and are scheduled to become effective on January 21, 2021.
The rules provide detail regarding access to public records held by the Department. Specifically, the rules explain the procedures for making a public records access request, responses to a public records request, inspection of records, and obtaining copies of records. Also, the fees and payments for public records are explained in these rules.
