Pursuant to T.C.A. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession.

On October 23, 2017, the Tennessee Motor Vehicle Commission considered new rules affecting motor vehicle dealers and recreational vehicle dealers. These rules were filed with the Secretary of State on February 23, 2018 and are effective as of May 24, 2018. These changes would amend the Tennessee Rules and Regulations as follows:

Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. 0960-01-.29 currently requires motor vehicle dealers to provide a written disclosure complying with the rule that a motor vehicle has a rebuilt title, salvage title, or salvage history. This rule is amended to provide alternative disclosure language to be provided prior to the consummation of the sale of a motor vehicle with such a title or history through an electronic automobile auction or online transaction.

A copy of the rule filing is available for review on the website of the Secretary of State at http://publications.tnsosfiles.com/rules_filings/02-26-18.pdf
