The Tennessee Soil Scientist Licensing Program considered new rules at a Rulemaking Hearing conducted on October 29, 2013. These rules were filed with the Secretary of State on July 25, 2014. A copy of the new rules is available on the Secretary of State’s website at http://www.tn.gov/sos/rules_filings/07-23-14.pdf. These rules will become effective on October 23, 2014.
The rules add a definition for inactive and retired licenses and create a rubric for putting a license in retired or inactive status. The rules address requirements for license renewal and seals. The rules set a code of ethics for soil scientist professionals and authorize civil penalties for violations. Finally, the rules discuss continuing education and reciprocity.
