Notice of Effective Date of Amended Rule for Tennessee Board of Licensing Contractors
The Tennessee Board of Licensing Contractors considered new rules at a regularly scheduled meeting conducted on September 25, 2018. These rules were filed with the Secretary of State on September 23, 2019 and will become effective on December 22, 2019. These rules have been filed as Proposed Rules and will be promulgated without a hearing ninety (90) days from the filing date unless a petition is received by at least ten (10) persons who will be affected by the rule, or submitted by a municipality which will be affected by the amendments, or an association of ten (10) or more members, or any standing committee of the General Assembly.
The proposed rules clarify monetary limitations for licensees with the Tennessee Board for Licensing Contractors. The rule clarifies that all holders of a contractor’s license can engage in projects where the total costs does not exceed the licensee’s monetary limit, including any and all labor and/or materials furnished by the owner.
