2014 Life Safety Achievement Award

The heroic efforts of your fire service team aren’t limited to rushing into burning buildings to save families. Your team members are also busy presenting educational information to local schools and other community groups to make sure people know how to respond to fires and how to prevent them in the first place.

The Life Safety Achievement Award established in 1994 was created to both honor and inspire our country’s fire departments in their fight to reduce fire fatalities through prevention education. Over the years, award recipients have developed and led many creative and effective prevention programs. Most important, they’ve saved lives.

The application period is now open for the national Life Safety Achievement Award to recognize you and the fire department for your efforts in 2014. To access the award criteria and application, go to the following website: http://www.grinnellmutual.com/resource-center/life-safety-achievement-award. All of the application information is available on Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company’s website at grinnellmutual.com. It’s also available on NASFM’s website at www.firemarshals.org. Again this year, the application may be submitted online.

All applications must be received by July 31, 2015. Thank you for your commitment to saving lives through fire prevention. Together, we can recognize your hard work and spread the message of fire and life safety.

Sincerely,

Gary West
Tennessee State Fire Marshal
