Notice of Rulemaking Hearing Date for Board of Examiners for Land Surveyors
The Tennessee Board of Examiners for Land Surveyors considered new rules at its regularly scheduled meeting conducted on July 28, 2016. The Notice of Rulemaking Hearing was filed with the Secretary of State on August 3, 2017 setting forth a hearing date of October 26, 2017.
These changes introduce a new rule entitled “Global Position Systems Surveys” which will set forth standards for licensed land surveyors who include the use of GPS surveys in his and/or her practice. In compliance with the Tennessee Open Meetings Act, compiled at Tenn. Code Ann. § 8-44-101 et seq., the above-referenced rulemaking hearing is open to the public, and you may either attend the rulemaking hearing in person to offer comments or you may submit written comments prior to the rulemaking hearing.
