Notice of Public Rulemaking Hearing: Tennessee Board of Cosmetology & Barber Examiners
Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession.
The Tennessee Board of Cosmetology & Barber Examiners (herein, Board) will be conducting a Rulemaking Hearing on Monday, October 5, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. This rulemaking hearing will be held at the following address:
500 James Robertson Parkway Davy Crockett Tower, Conference Room 1-A Nashville, TN 37243
1. Rules related to equipment requirements for barber schools, barber shops, residential barber services kits, master barber student kits, and barber technician student kits, as well as providing essential clarification in terminology. The Board will also consider rules related to reducing the required hours to become a barber instructor, physical relocation of a shop or school, as well as rules related to teacher training programs in master barbering.
2. Rules related to equipment requirements for schools of cosmetology, schools of cosmetology offering an aesthetics curriculum, aesthetics schools, student kits, cosmetology shops, skin care shops, manicure shops, and natural hair stylist shops, as well as providing essential clarification in terminology. The Board will also consider rules related to physical relocation of a shop or school, as well as rules related to teacher training programs in cosmetology, aesthetics, manicuring or natural hair styling.
