Notification of Amended Rules
Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession.
On February 4, 2025, the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy (“Board”) amended Chapter 0020-06 of its rules relating to the Peer Review Program. The amended rules were filed with the Secretary of State on June 30, 2025. The effective date of the amended rules will be September 28, 2025.
In particular, the Board amended rules 0020-06-.01, 0020-06-.03, 0020-06-.04, 0020-06-.05, and 0020-06-.07, and the Board repealed rule 0020-06-.06. In summary, the rules were amended by defining the terms Administering Entity, Peer Review Oversight Committee, and Sponsoring Organization; amending the requirements for participating in peer review; defining the Board’s authority to approve peer review sponsoring organizations, programs and standards; amending the process for peer review submissions; and repealing a rule regarding the process for handling peer review results.
