Notice of New Rules for the Tennessee Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers

Pursuant to Tenn. Code. Ann. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession.

The Tennessee Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers considered new rules at a Rulemaking Hearing conducted on September 21, 2012. These rules were filed with the Secretary of State on June 2, 2014. A copy of these new rules is available on the Secretary of State’s website at http://www.tn.gov/sos/rules_filings/06-03-14.pdf. These rules will become effective on August 31, 2014.

The rules lower renewals fees, add requirements for apprenticeship quarterly reports, add a factor in the civil penalties rule, discuss requirements for a crematory and add two professional conduct rules.
