Thanks to everyone who attended the renewal of “Horsepower Weekend.” We had great attendance and informative presenters for the sessions. Special “Thank you” to the venders for their support! They supplied apparatus and equipment to view as well as providing several of the speakers. We appreciate the support!

Our 2nd annual Training Chief & Officers Symposium is scheduled for June 25-26, 2015 at TFACA. This 2 day event begins at noon and will be packed with information concerning various subjects. We will also be providing an ICS 300 & 400 class Starting on Monday 22nd as part of the training week. If you need 300 & 400, this will be an opportunity to get those classes and stay for the Symposium. Save the dates and the schedule will be coming soon!

Don’t forget Smoky Mountain Weekend May 2nd -3rd. Still a few spots remaining but don’t delay to register SMW. TFACA is glad to once again be offering classes for the weekend. We have several on the schedule including the “Emergency Driving Simulator.” While the Simulator class is full, the unit will be there and our instructors will be happy to give you a tour when they are not working with class students. You can schedule the simulator to conduct training at your department by contacting TFACA. The schedule is filling quickly so get your request in now.

The following classes are in need of students! If you need recertification hours for your state inspector licensee here are a few opportunities for you.

2012 Residential Building Inspector - 20 hrs. – April 13 - 15

Fundamentals of Concrete - 7 hrs. – April 15

2012 Commercial Building Inspector - 20 hrs. April 15-17

Public Safety Telecommunicator – 40 hrs. April 23-29.

Recent rule changes now allow individuals to register directly for certification testing with the Firefighting Commission. This can be done by using the Acadis Portal as well as registering for TFACA classes. If you haven’t registered and received your individual portal account, please do. Here is a link to the portal to begin your registration process. Chiefs & Training officers can also obtain access to allow registration for all your department members as well as check training records and certification status. All this is available by registering and using the Acadis portal.
