TFACA is proud to announce the return of Horsepower Weekend! The return of training opportunities dedicated to apparatus is scheduled for March 13-14, 2015. This will also be the "Ribbon Cutting" event for the new Emergency Vehicle Driving Simulator. This new mobile unit will be available to travel across the state to provide simulation training for apparatus driving, scene protection using TIMS, and other important scenarios to meet the demands of today’s emergency vehicle operations.

Tuition is free, while lodging and meals will be subject to normal fees. To find out more click the link above. Registration is available through the portal or by completing a TFACA application.

Thanks for the support for the in-service classes offered by Fire Programs. We have presented over 30 in-service classes in January and have a similar number scheduled for February. With the addition of the Driving Simulator to the program schedule we are preparing to keep our instructors busy assisting you in meeting your training needs. Contact Jeff Elliott, Wayne Morris or your regional TFACA coordinator for details on how to schedule and in-service class for your department.

The Tennessee Commission on Firefighting Personnel Standards & Education has been notified by IFSAC of the approval for the addition of Fire Inspector I and Fire Investigator I as certifications for Tennessee. Courses are available from TFACA to prepare students for certification testing by the Commission. If you would like more information on the certification, contact the Commission office or for class information contact TFACA at 800-747-8868.

Our Codes program was notified this week by ICC that TFACA has been awarded Preferred Provider Training Partner status. This will allow students attended ICC approved TFACA classes with CEU's to meet ICC recertification hours. Approved classes will also be posted on ICC's training schedule to help keep students aware of upcoming classes in their area. We are excited to be presented this opportunity to provide training to meet the requirements of this partnership! We will provide a list of approved courses in the near future.

The Codes Program still needs students for the following classes to avoid cancellation. If you need CEU's or just would like to increase your knowledge complete an application or log in the portal to register. Use the links above for either registration options.
