Notice of Effective Date of Change in Law
Board of Examiners for Land Surveyors
Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession.
Pursuant to recent legislation, the law now prohibits all boards from establishing or operating under race-based policies pertaining to their composition, including policies on affirmative action, racial preferences, or racial quotas. The law also prohibits all boards from using a person’s race, color, ethnicity, or national origin to determine the person’s participation as a member of the board. This change became effective April 24, 2025. For more information concerning the subject legislation that was passed and signed into law, you can review Public Chapter No. 294 here.
