Proposed Rule Notify
Pursuant to T.C.A. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession.
On December 5, 2016, the Tennessee Athletic Commission (“Commission”) approved rule amendments affecting mixed martial arts (“MMA”) licensees. The rules were posted with the Secretary of State and became effective June 15, 2017. These changes amended the Tennessee Rules and Regulations as follows:
Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. § 0145-03-.04 is amended so that the Commission has adopted the Association of Boxing Commissions’ Unified Rules of MMA.
Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. § 0145-03-.10 is amended so that Commission has adopted the Association of Boxing Commissions’ MMA Judging Criteria and Scoring Guidelines.
Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. § 0145-03-.15 is amended so that Commission will now require MMA gloves have padding over the knuckles.
