Notice of Effective Date for New Rules for the
Tennessee Private Probation Services Council
Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession.
The Tennessee Private Probation Services Council held a rulemaking hearing regarding these rules on March 11, 2016 and, following that hearing, filed the Rulemaking Hearing Rules with the Secretary of State on August 12, 2016. These rules became effective on November 10, 2016.
These rules lower the quarterly provider fee from one dollar ($1.00) per probationer to seventy-five cents ($0.75) and create a code of professional conduct. These rules also clarify that registrants are required to keep and pose certain required items such as insurance, policies, and fee schedule, and add requirements properly supervise probationers as required in the probation agreement with the court.
