Notice of New Rules for the Private Probation Services Council
Pursuant to Tenn. Code. Ann. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession.
The Private Probation Services Council considered new rules at its June 6, 2014 regularly scheduled meeting. These new rules were adopted in accordance and compliance with Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-3-1304(d), (e), and (f), and the General Assembly’s 2013 Public Chapter 122. These rules address licensing for certain qualified members of the military and military spouses.
These rules were previously filed as Proposed Rules under Tenn. Code Ann. §§ 4-5-202 and 4-5-207 with the Secretary of State’s office. These rules had to be withdrawn and refiled, however, due to an error in the rules.
The correct version of the rules was filed with the Secretary of State of October 29, 2014. A copy of these new rules is available on the Secretary of State’s website at http://www.tn.gov/sos/rules_filings/10-16-14.pdf. These rules will be promulgated on January 27, 2014 without a hearing unless twenty-five (25) persons affected by the rule, an association with at least that many members, a municipality, or a majority of any standing committee of the General Assembly requests a hearing. If the requirements for a hearing are not met, then these rules will become effective on April 27, 2015.
