Notice of Effective Date for New Rules for
Tennessee Private Probation Services Council

Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession.

The Tennessee Private Probation Services Council approved proposed rules at their regularly scheduled meeting on August 7, 2020. These rules were filed with the Secretary of State on March 12, 2021 and will become effective on June 10, 2021. The rules have been filed as Proposed Rules and will be promulgated ninety (90) days from the filing date.

The proposed rule is an amendment to the Application, Registration, and Fee Requirement rules set forth by the Council. The proposed rules reduce the late renewal fee and eliminate the late fee penalty for untimely provider fees. Specifically, the proposed rules reduce the late renewal fee from $100 to $25. Additionally, the proposed rules eliminate the fee of five cents ($0.05) per probation reported for every ten days by which the provider fee is late.
