Electronic Filing Reminder for Professional Privilege Tax

All Professional Privilege Tax returns, due June 1, 2019, must be filed electronically. Veterinarians holding an active license in Tennessee must pay the $400 tax. More information on Tennessee’s Professional Privilege Tax can be found online at https://tntap.tn.gov/eservices.

Professional Privilege Tax returns can be filed electronically, either by individuals or by companies who file and pay for multiple individuals.

To electronically file the tax return, you must have either your Social Security Number or your Professional Privilege Tax account number. If you do not know your account number, please use the online look-up available on our website at https://tntap.tn.gov/eservices.

State law (Tennessee Code Annotated 67-1-115) authorizes the Commissioner to require that any return, report, claim, statement, application or other document filed with the Department of Revenue, including any type of payment that goes with it, be submitted electronically.
For general questions concerning the tax, please contact the Revenue Call Center at (800) 342-1003 or (615) 253-0600.

The Department of Revenue is also happy to answer taxpayer questions. They encourage taxpayers to reach them through their online help application, called Revenue Help (https://revenue.support.tn.gov/hc/en-us ). This application allows taxpayers to search and find answers to their questions, as well as submit requests to the Department electronically.
