Notice of Public Rule Making Hearing for the

State Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners Board

Pursuant to Tenn. Code. Ann. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession.

The Cosmetology Board considered new rules at their December 2, 2013 regularly scheduled meeting and the Barber Examiners Board considered new rules at their February 24, 2014 regularly scheduled meeting. This communication is formal notification that a rulemaking hearing regarding these rules will be held by the Tennessee Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 9:00 AM at 500 James Robertson Parkway, First Floor, Conference Room 1A, Nashville, Tennessee 37243. Pursuant to the Tennessee Open Meetings Act (T.C.A. § 8-44-101, et seq.), the above-referenced hearing is open to the public, and you may attend the hearing in person if you wish to do so.

A copy of the Notice of Rulemaking Hearing to be considered at this hearing is available on the Secretary of State’s website at http://state.tn.us/sos/rules_filings/11-02-14.pdf for the rules specific to the Cosmetology discipline and at http://state.tn.us/sos/rules_filings/11-01-14.pdf for the rules specific to the Barber Examiners discipline.

Should you have comments regarding the proposed rules, you may either attend the rulemaking hearing in person to offer those comments or you may submit written comments which will be considered by the Board at the time of the rulemaking hearing. Please submit any questions, concerns or comments regarding the proposed rules to the board office in writing at Cosmetology.Board@TN.Gov.
