Notice of Effective Date of New Rules for Locksmith Licensing Program
Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession.
The Tennessee Locksmith Licensing Program considered new rules at a rulemaking hearing conducted on January 27, 2015. These rules were filed with the Secretary of State on March 28, 2016 and will become effective on June 26, 2016.
These rules amend the several definitions within the locksmith program, clarify application and/or registration requirements, and amend experience, education, civil penalties, and code of conduct. Additionally, the new rules establish a reciprocity standard within the locksmith program. A full copy of these rules can be viewed online at http://share.tn.gov/sos/rules_filings/03-21-16.pdf.
