Notice of Amended Locksmith Licensing Program Rules

Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession.

The Locksmith Licensing Program will conduct a rulemaking hearing on January 27, 2015 in Conference Room 1-B of the Davy Crockett Tower, 500 James Robertson Parkway, Nashville, Tennessee 37243, at 9:00 a.m. Central Time.

These rules make several amendments to the Locksmith rules found at Chapter 0780-05-13, including amending rules regarding definitions, application and renewal requirements, experience required for licensure, continuing and qualifying education programs, information required to be submitted to the Commissioner, and the Code of Conduct. A new rule is also added regarding reciprocity. In compliance with the Tennessee Open Meetings Act, compiled at Tenn. Code Ann. § 8-44-101 et seq., the above-referenced rulemaking hearing is open to the public, and you may either attend the rulemaking hearing in person to offer comments or you may submit written comments prior to the rulemaking hearing.
