Notice of Rulemaking Hearing for New Rules of the Tennessee Real Estate Appraiser Commission
Pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-3-1306(d), you are receiving this notice because you have elected to receive notification by e-mail of certain changes or potential changes to the law applicable to your profession.
The Tennessee Real Estate Appraiser Commission (“Commission”) approved the proposed rules at the rulemaking hearing conducted on January 21, 2025. The rules were filed with the Secretary of State on May 1, 2025, and will become effective July 31, 2025. The rules have been filed as rulemaking hearing rules and will be promulgated ninety (90) days from the filing date.
The proposed rules amend certain general provisions and reciprocity rules resulting from the Department’s review as required by the General Assembly’s enactment of Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-5-213. Specifically, the application upgrade fee is eliminated along with fees for temporary authorization for military applicants, and the reciprocal certificate issuance fee is reduced. Also, the experience and appraisal log requirements for registered trainees are amended. Lastly, a portion of the proposed rule amendments update and clarify the educational requirements for qualifications for general certification, as required following an audit from the Appraisal Subcommittee (“ASC”).
